THREE Covid-19 related deaths and 130 new cases were reported bringing to 2,161 the number of cases, Ministry of Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah disclosed.
The three additional deaths bring to 26 the fatality figures.
Hisham also brought to light how the movement control order averted a possible landslide of cases.
Many Malaysians, including civil servants, had made travel plans for the school holidays and they were planning to go abroad, including to Covid-19 hot zones.
This would have been the catalyst for a third wave had preventive measures were not put in place.
