The breakthrough to own a clubhouse came in 1985 when the NPC approached the then Prime Minister, Datuk Seri (now Tun) Dr Mahathir Mohamad, and, on June 10, 1988, he was kind enough to let the NPC have a two-storey mock Tudor style building at 84, Jalan Tangsi, Kuala Lumpur, as a place to call its own.
